Farming is part of all humans’ heritages. Through local action, it strengthens social connections, community, and health and wellness.

Now in its eighth year, ReGen Roots’ Community Farms program manages seven acres of farm-land in Hudson, NH where we provide opportunities for refugees to grow healthy food in a positive environment!

Community Farmers Program

Forging connections to land and community with new neighbors!

The Community Farmers program provides land and resources to refugees and immigrants who are looking for positive places to grow healthy food!  This helps people achieve food security and earn a side income while getting more involved with their new community.

In 2024, we are helping ten refugees grow food on over three acres of land, with the goal of helping them produce over 15,000 lbs. of healthy food to share with their families and sell back to the Nashua community!

Neema, Judith, Fatuma, and Beatrice harvesting corn and beans at the ReGen Roots Community Farm last season. These hard-working ladies from Burundi are some of the best farmers we have ever had the pleasure of meeting- their connection to nature and usage of sustainably methods is inspirational!

Young Farmer Incubator

Inspiring the next generation of farmers through local action!

The average age of the American farmer is almost 60, with less and less young people getting involved in this ancient and fundamental occupation. At the ReGen Roots Young Farmer Incubator, we provide young farming entrepreneurs with land, resources, and business guidance to help them grow successful businesses!

We also hire multiple Farm Apprentices from high-school students each year that help support the incubator businesses while they learn about the importance of sustainable agriculture and community involvement through hands-on opportunities.

Community Donations

Local Growers Donating Healthy Food to Others in Need!

Many local food pantries and other organizations dealing with food security lack access to fresh, locally grown produce to provide to their clients. At the ReGen Roots Community Farms, the only requirement for people to utilize land is that 10% of their harvest must be donated to the Nashua Children’s Home or the Nashua Soup Kitchen. Since 2017, we have been able to donate thousands of pounds of fresh, healthy food to these organizations due to the efforts of community farmers/gardeners, young entrepreneurs, and student interns- building a resilient local food system that involves and supports diverse members of the community!
